Mother and Young Daughter Adventure Weekend
Invest in Your Parenting. Invest in You.
May 13-15, 2005

Moms enjoy the company of other moms who are working to improve their parenting in similar ways.

Join other mothers and their daughters in a conscious, fun, and structured environment at the Wright Institute for Lifelong Learning where you will participate in activities designed to foster a deep understanding and lasting bond between you and your child.

On this weekend you will learn how to:

Do you Care Deeply About Your Daughter? Of course you do! As a mother, nothing matters to you more than giving your children everything you can and more! But, do you sometimes wonder if you missed the day they passed out the parenting instruction manual?

The bad news. Being a mother is the toughest job you will ever have and no matter how hard you try, you can never do it "perfectly." You will continuously make mistakes, and you will always feel like there is more you "should" be doing.

The good news. You are not alone! Our parenting program is designed to bring parents together to co-voyage in the wild and complex adventure of parenting. Although it is true you cannot do it perfectly or be an expert, you can enjoy the immense richness that comes from learning and growing together with your child.

Join Bob Wright

Bob Wright, founder of the Wright Institute for Lifelong Learning, has over 25 years of experience supporting parents in living to their highest potential. Bob has developed cutting-edge programs for parents including ongoing Moms and Dad's groups, evening workshops for parents and the one-of-a-kind parent/child adventure weekends.

Bob brings his wealth of knowledge in family systems and human developmental models (having designed his own well know model); his deep understanding of human and group dynamics; his ability to create and hold a vision for everyone he meets; his unwavering commitment to truth; and a very big and caring heart fully to bear on this weekend with parents and children.

On the Mother Daughter Weekend, Bob guides mothers toward achieving their deepest satisfaction in the lifelong job of mothering. In a compassionate and caring forum, he teaches mothers how to learn and grow with their children. Being present in the moment with your children is a learnable skill and one that will bring richness to your parenting beyond anything you thought possible.

Wright co-founded The Wright Institute for Lifelong Learning in downtown Chicago, delivering training and development services in the areas of work, relationship, personal growth and spiritual development.

With his wife, Judith Wright (best selling author of There Must Be More Than This: Finding MORE Life, Love, and Meaning by Overcoming Your Soft Addictions ,) Bob also owns and operates The Prairie Spring Woods Training and Conference Center, a retreat center and prairie restoration site near Elkhorn, Wisconsin, where individuals and groups can learn the skills and plan the changes that will help them to build lives founded on vision and purpose.

"Nothing shows both your magnificence and your shortcomings more than parenting. Being a parent is the most vulnerable thing you can do."

-Bob Wright

Hear what other mothers and sons have to say!

"I have never enjoyed being with my daughter (age 5) more. We had a great time together and learned to share at a much deeper level. It was very sweet."

-Jennifer S.

"The mother daughter weekend opened my eyes to what is possible in my relationship with my daughter (age 13). I am filled with gratitude for the coaching I received on how to expect more from her as I expect more from myself. I am communicating more directly with her, setting consequences, and feeling way more satisfied in our interactions. I feel closer to her, and we are both more respectful of each other. Thank you again for your dedication to helping moms have more satisfaction."
-Christina C.

"On the Mother Daughter weekend I learned to share my feelings with people besides my mom. I liked that I was a role model."

-Morgan L., age 7

"Thank you for deeply understanding mothers and how to support us. Thank you for helping me explore the depths of mothering and its vulnerabilities. Helping my daughter (age 9) and I see ourselves together more clearly has been a great gift. I am learning and beginning to delight in all the possibilities that holding standards and exacting consequences can bring. It helps me be more me and helps Lucy have the freedom to do what she will do which is to grow into a beautiful, vibrant, alive and happy young woman."

-Denise D.

"Thank you for the wonderful Mother Daughter weekend. I learned about myself and my daughter (age 11) in ways I didn't know possible. I felt very supported and challenged. I am committed to holding high standards for both of us."
-Anne A.

I loved the adventure on Friday night. It was fun. I learned that it is important to do something the first time I am asked.

-Sarah S. age 5
